Brewing Oolong Tea

While there are some variations in the brewing methods for individual varieties of Oolong Teas, those variations are nowhere near as large as they are for green tea. The basic brewing method for Oolong tea is given below.

In general, you’ll want to use about 2 teaspoons of oolong tea per 8 oz. (236 ml) of water. The water temperature should be between 90 and 95ºC (194-205ºF) and the steeping time should range from 2 to 3 minutes.

Though, in our opinion tea lovers tend to find their perfect brew through trial and error using the above as a rough guide. Similarly, if you find the resulting tea too weak, try adding more tea leaves or increase the time for which the tea is steeped. If the water temperature is increased, the tea will be more astringent.
