Does the quality of tea deteriorate when other ingredients are added? 

It is absolutely not true that the quality of your tea will deplete if you add milk or a dash of lime to it.
Catechins, which are antioxidants that is found in tea leaves helps to increase the body’s immunity to fight some particular types of cancers.
The addition of milk to tea does not strip off its antioxidants. It is as beneficial as black tea.

Is herbal tea real tea?
The scientific name of the plant from where real tea leaves are extracted is Camellia sinensis. White, green tea as well as long tea comes from this plant. But herbal tea is made out of the barks and flowers of other plants whose properties are similar to that of the tea plants. It is not authentic tea.
