Tea with Milk & Sugar?

How one drinks their cup of tea depends on only the person drinking it. The tea connoisseurs would recommend drinking tea black with no sugar, honey, lemon etc added. But there are many teas that are enjoyable with a little milk, or just sugar or both.
It is advised to add milk and sugar to astringent black teas that is tea from China, India (except Darjeeling), Sri Lanka, Indonesia etc. In India, the popular CTC (crush, tear curl) teas are usually had with milk, sugar and a bunch of spices. Another favourite ingredient in tea in India is ginger - the warmth of the ginger and tea is best enjoyed in winters and is supposed to help cure ailments - cold, stomach aches etc.

Milk tea is enjoyed worldwide in various forms - there is the builders tea in England, the chai in India, the yak milk/butter tea of Tibet and Nepal, to name a few. Many of these teas are sweetened teas as well - and the quantity of sugar varies by choice or sometimes tradition.

There are many teas that are enjoyed with sugar but no milk. The most common example is Iced tea. Another example would be Moroccan mint tea which is made with green tea, spearmint leaves and sugar.

Tea such as green tea, white tea and oolong tea are usually consumed with milk and sugar, but it is acceptable to add a slice of lime or mint leaves to enhance flavours.
